USU Women Seventh-Seed For WAC Basketball Tournament, Will Face Second-Seed Boise State

March 9, 2008

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State women's basketball will be the seventh-seed for the Western Athletic Conference Tournament and will take on second-seed Boise State in the quartefinals, Wednesday, March 12 at 8:30 p.m. at Las Cruces, N.M.

USU ended regular-season action with a 9-19 overall and a 5-11 WAC record, falling to Idaho, 67-55, in Saturday's regular-season action finale, as the Aggies ended with three losses after winning the previous two in a row.

Utah State was swept by Boise State in the season series, losing to the Broncos, 65-57, Thursday night at home. USU also lost to BSU, 85-77, at Boise on Jan. 17. BSU leads the all-time series against USU, 13-2, winning the last 10 games.

The Aggies will be searching for their first WAC Tournament win, as sixth-seeded USU lost to third-seeded Nevada last year and ninth-seeded Utah State lost to No. 8 seed Idaho in 2006, USU's first year in the league.

Utah State women's basketball WAC Tournament tickets are available through the USU Ticket Office at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum, or by calling or (435) 797-0305 or 1-888-U-STATE-1 (1-888-878-2831).

All Aggies women's basketball games can be heard on KLGN (1390 AM) in Logan with Evan Nyman calling the play-by-play. They can also be heard on the web through Yahoo! Sports, by going to the Utah State Athletics home page at www.UtahStateAggies.com and clicking on the Yahoo! Sports link in the right hand column.

Fans can also follow all the WAC Tournament action through live video streaming on WAC.tv, available through the WAC web site, wacsports.com and registering for a small fee.

Individual men's and women's games, with the exception of the men's final on Saturday, March 15, will be available live on WAC.tv. The men's championship game will be available exclusively on ESPN2. Individual tournament games may be purchased for $7.95 each.

All-tournament passes on WAC.tv will be available for $24.95, with all-access packages for just the men or women for $16.95 each.
