USU Men's Tennis Shuts Out Northern Colorado Friday

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State men's tennis won, 7-0, over Northern Colorado Friday at the Logan Sports Academy and Racquet Club in USU's final home match of the season. The Aggies improve to 6-12 on the season while the Bears fall to 1-11. Sophomore Alex Thatcher tallied his first win in singles this season defeating UNC's Andrew Buzako at No. 6, 6-1, 6-0. In doubles, former high school rivals Thatcher (Mountian Crest HS) and junior Matt Braithwaite (Box Elder HS) partnered for the first time this season and won at No. 3, 8-1, against the Bears' Ryan Dunn and Buzako. The Aggies continue action Thursday, April 17 against UC Santa Barbara at Liberty Park in Salt Lake City, Utah at 10 a.m., which will be the Aggies' final regular-season match. The Western Athletic Conference Tournament starts April 24, in Las Cruces, N.M.
