Devin Daniels Named WAC Golfer Of The Week Again

April 2, 2008

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State's Devin Daniels has been named the Western Athletic Conference men's golfer of the week it was announced by the league office on Tuesday. It is the second time in the past month that Daniels has been honored by the WAC.

Daniels, a junior from Hyde Park, Utah (Sky View HS), notched a sixth-place finish at the Cal Poly Intercollegiate, March 27-28, as he led the Aggies to a fifth-place finish, its best of the season. Daniels finished the two-day event by shooting a two-under par 70 to finish the 54-hole tournament with an even-par 216 (72-74-70).

In seven tournaments thus far this year, Daniels has been Utah State's top finisher five times and has a scoring average of 73.58 in 19 total rounds, which includes a 54-hole low of 204. His low round of the year is a 64 at the Agua Caliente Invitational in Palm Springs, Calif.

Utah State returns to action on April 18-19 when it competes in the PING Cougar Classic in Provo, Utah.
