Men's Golf Begins Spring Season At Fourth Annual Pat Hicks Invitational

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State's men's golf team will begin its 2008 spring season on Monday, Feb. 11 at the fourth annual Pat Hicks Invitational hosted by Southern Utah University. The two-day tournament will be held at the Sunbrook Golf Course in St. George, Utah, utilizing the Point and Black Rock nines.

The 36-hole tournament will begin on Monday, Feb. 11 and conclude Tuesday, Feb. 12 with 18-holes to be played each day. The tournament will play at par-72 on the 6,758-yard Sunbrook course, one of Utah's most challenging.

The 18-team field consists of Brigham Young, Campbell, Centenary, Denver, Dixie State, Grand Canyon, Idaho State, Kentucky, Louisiana-Monroe, UMKC, Oral Roberts, Rice, Southern Utah, UC Riverside, Utah, Utah State, Utah Valley and Weber State.

Competing for the Aggies will be senior Jeremy Pack, junior Devin Daniels, and freshmen Tyler Labrum, Toph Peterson and Thad Truman.

Daniels led the Aggies during the fall season with an 18-hole scoring average of 72.18 and had a team-best third-place finish at the Purple and Red Invitational co-hosted by the University of Utah and Weber State.

Utah State ended the fall season with a ninth-place finish at the Agua-Caliente Invitational hosted by Air Force in Palm Springs, Calif.
