Jeremy Pack Leads Aggies At Thunderbird Invitational

ST. GEORGE, Utah - Utah State's men's golf team opened up its spring season with a 16th place finish here at the Pat Hicks Thunderbird Invitational hosted by Southern Utah University. The Aggies finished the two-day, 36-hole tournament, with a 41-over par 617 (309-308). Senior Jeremy Pack (Salt Lake City, Utah) led Utah State with a 36-hole score of 152 with rounds of 79 and 73 putting him in a tie for 70th place. Junior Devin Daniels (Hyde Park, Utah) tied for 75th with a score of 153 (80-73), while junior Tyler Labrum (Roosevelt, Utah) tied for 81st with a combined score of 155 (74-81). Freshmen Thad Truman (Meridan, Idaho) and Toph Peterson (Logan, Utah) also competed for USU and finished in a tie for 99th and 106th, respectively, with scores of 159 and 162. The University of Kentucky won the event with a team score of 562, while Scott Tashie of Denver won individual honors with a seven-under par 137 (69-68). Utah State will return to action on March 3-4 when it travels to Riverside, Calif., to compete in the Braveheart Classic. TEAM RESULTS: 1. Kentucky - 562 (282-280) 2.
