USU Football Signs High School Running Back

March 3, 2008

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State head football coach Brent Guy announced Monday that running back Ronald Scott has signed to play for the Aggies, increasing USU's 2008 signing class to 22 players.

Scott, a native of Palmdale, Calif, is a 6-0, 204 pound running back, and was a first-team all-Golden League selection at Palmdale High School, in addition to an all-CIF selection. He rushed for 830 yards on 120 carries (6.92 ypc) with 19 rushing TD's. Scott also had 19 receptions for 356 yards (18.74 ypc) with four TD's. He was named team MVP and the running back of the year this past season for the Falcons after leading them to a 9-2 record.

Guy's fourth recruiting class is now at 22 players with 13 offensive and nine defensive players and Scott is the second running back to sign with Utah State. Of the 22 signees, a total of 17 of them are high school players.

The Aggies open Spring practice on March 19 with the Spring Game on April 11. The incoming freshmen will report in August. Utah State is scheduled open the 2008 season on Aug. 30 at UNLV.
